That's Mommy's Word
max has found his opinion. and it is a strong one. very strong. my mother always said that i deserved to have a "little sasser" one day as payback. well, mother...i hope you're happy because i have a feeling i am going to get mine. generally speaking, max is a happy kid. unless he wants to stand on the dishwasher door, or dig through the trash, or live outside. then my sweet, happy, little boy yells, yes yells, at me. i have no idea what he is yelling, but the message is quite clear. also, he has learned to say "no". i keep telling him that is mommy's word, but he is fighting me for it. i think we just entered real parenting.

Hold on! Parenting can get kind of rough sometimes, but you will keep doing great I am sure!
Oh the joys! Aren't paybacks so much fun? Good thing I was a pretty sweet, laid back child. But thanks to Jim, we got a stubborn little Jordy just like her Daddy! Good luck with Max-my advice is just being consistent in however you choose to deal with it. If you let him get away with something just once, he'll think he always can. But sometimes they are just too dang cute to even want to deal with it, huh!
ha! So we have a yeller do we? I am in no position to offer parenting advice, as I have a spirited kid of my own to encounter daily. ;) But I do have to say that amidst all the power struggels we really do get some great laughs in most days. I figure it's better to have to calm the fire inside them down a little than to struggle to build one at all. I like our fiesty kids -- they'll need that fire soon enough!
