To the Dads in My Life...

My DAD I have been blessed to have had him in my life for 16 years. I miss him and love him and know that he has been with me at times from the other side. I think I have some of the best parts of my Dad in me.

My Father in LawThank you for all you do for me and my kids. You are the only PaPa they will know here on this earth and I love to watch you teach them and love them.

Thank you for being such a great Father to me.

My Brothers In Law: Mark & Jeff I love you both for many reasons but mostly for the way you love my boys. They are so lucky to have uncles right down the street who wrestle with them and love them to pieces.

The Love of my life and Father of my children: RYAN I love to watch you with them; how kind and gentle you can be, how rough you can be when they need someone to wrestle with. I can't imagine life without you in it, for all the support you are to me as a parent. Thank you for being so hands on with our kids. I love you for it and so will they.

Here is how the Wasatch Back is supposed to work-- 12 members on a team, 6 in each van, each run 3 legs alternating vans (van 1 all run their first leg, then van 2 each all run their first leg, etc), you rest while the other van is running then pick up where they finish and start your next leg; the race starts in Logan and finishes in Park City.

I got a call from Ryan at about 5:30 pm on Friday, just about the time his van (van 2) was supposed to pick up where their first van had finished to start running their first leg. He was calling from Far West to tell me their van had broke down at a Maverick and they had been sitting there for 3 hours waiting for a replacement from the rental place. Ryan is that little reflection running on the side of the road

Van 1 would now have to run all their legs and consequently they would be running 2 legs back to back, all through the night, from 9 pm to 8 am the next morning. There would be no sleeping and they all would be adding additional miles than they had been scheduled to run. Oh, and they would be doing it in the rain.

He came home very sore, very tired, and swearing he wasn't going to do it ever again...I think I remember him saying this in past years. Way to go Honey. We missed you while you were out there killing yourself.

LAGOON 2009

While Ryan's brother, Steve, and his family were out from Nebraska we took our annual 'stay-cation' to Lagoon. Last year it was boiling hot, I was pregnant, and I passed out and ended up spending about 1 1/2 hours with a medic. This year it was wet, rainy, and cool...but much more enjoyable.

Here are the reasons why--

1.Lagoon is better cold than hot.

2. Ryan has consented to not riding rides anymore. Everyone is glad about that.

3. Max has found his love for rides and...

4. All the kiddie rides are within 50 feet of each other

5. Grandpa and Grandma are on-site sitters

6.The pavilion hosts lousy shows but great shelter from the rain

7. Picnic lunches by JoAnn taste so good

8. The muggy amusement park smells are temporarily wafted out by the smell of churros

9. If all else fails, it's a great people watching venue.

10. Ryan's childhood memories; Max making the same memories.

Nestle 5K--Springville,UT

The Nestle 5K has become a Loveless family tradition. Every year, the first weekend in June, most of the Loveless family can be found at the starting line at Springville High at 7 a.m.

This year I finally persuaded my sister, Jolea, to run it with me. We ran track and cross country together in high school but had not run a race together since the glory days. It was so fun to run with her. She did great! Hopefully there are many more runs in our future! Ryan's parents are usually pushing a stroller for us. This year, they pushed Luke. Ryan pushed Max in the jogger and took 5th place in the stroller division. Stacey's whole family ran this year as well, even little Camilla!

Steve and Susie were out from Nebraska and were able to join us this year. They didn't run it but it sure was fun to have them there!Loved having these kids out for a week!

Last year it was freezing cold and we ran in the pouring rain. This year we missed not having Mark and Jeff with us and we did lose Max once (he ran off in 2,000 people), oh, and no one won any prizes in the drawing (I won $100 last year), but we sure did have a great time...

until next YEAR!!

First time to the ZOO

In the past year Max has finally broadened his love for animals beyond that of cows and horses. So it was time to take him to the Hoagle Zoo for the first time. Ryan and I were really looking forward to taking him and although it was a long day (we took 4 outfits for the baby and he came home in the last one) we loved it and Max had a blast. It is so much fun watching your kids experience new things for the first time!Max would have rode the carousel all day long! Max's favorites were the elephants, giraffes, and zebras (which he kept calling "Marty" from Madagascar).

mesa falls- ashton, idaho

While we were in Rexburg, I really wanted Ryan to see Mesa Falls. It is a short 1/2 hour drive from my Mom's place and it is absolutely beautiful. It's great for kids too because it's easily accessible, you can't even call it a hike, and it takes about 15-20 minutes to enjoy and then your done. Everyone but Mom ended up going. We stopped at Big Judd's for a hamburger and then went on to see the Falls. MEMORIES AT MOM'S

A few weeks ago, on Memorial Day weekend, we took a much needed trip up to Rexburg to be with my Mom, brothers, and Jolea's and Carrie's families for Memorial Day weekend. It was beautiful weather and Max and Luke got to spend three fun filled days with their Idaho cousins. Mom was sick the entire weekend but was so kind to have us all still come and to take care of us all while we were there. Max has really found his Love for NANA's place. Her two acres of fun was all he needed!
