What Women Want Their Men to Wear...

...and it's not this. Yesterday I ran across a fabulous article on msn.com. Several staffers from 3 different women's magazines took a poll about fashion as it pertains to the men in their lives. I found it intriguing and quickly sent it to my adorable husband to read. Did you know that most women prefer a man's legs in Levis and that the most flattering color a guy can wear is blue? The most common male fashion crime witnessed on a regular basis brought in a tie: wearing athletic socks with dress shoes and wearing a suit that is too big (a point of discussion for me and my hubby on our commute home from work). Of particular interest to me though was the category of "The one thing about my man's style I would change would be..." The winner didn't surprise me: "I'd give away his double pleated pants and buy him flat fronts." I call it the "Frank Barone look". As much as my husband adores Frank Barone, I keep telling him that the double pleated pants are not only unflattering, but they might be pushing faux pas status. Now before there is a serious outlash from some very comfortable pleat wearers...let me explain. I have yet to meet someone whose figure was flattered by pleated pants. They just don’t look that good on anyone. The reason? The pleated section in the front part of the pants tend to bubble out, making you look bigger than you really are. Now I know that dress pants often come pleated, but if you peruse the mensware, you can usually find flat fronts in the same style. And if they don’t come in flat front, don’t buy them. Now I know that there is something to be said for comfort. No one is asking that you buy tight flat front pants. In fact, please don't. But at one time we all thought hammer pants should should stick around because they were comfortable too. All I am saying is that a moo-moo and koolots are more comfortable than most things in my closet but top the "things I never want my wife to wear" list. However, if you look your are going for is the Frank Barone, go ahead and do your thing. He has no doubt mastered the look of the pleated pants.

AMEN! As much as I like Frank Barone, I'd like him even more with a pair of flat front pants. Let's just take a minute to talk about men who wear athletic socks with sandals. What's that all about? Tell you one thing. . .DEALBREAKER

You shouldn't be so picky. Who knows what those socks could be hiding.

I know exactly what those socks are hiding. . .toe fungus! Besides, I have every right to be picky. . .you don't want to be hanging out with Virtue #1 and her fungal husband, do you?

I have a fungus in my grass and Jeff has one in his ear. Maybe Jeff was picking his feet and then his ear in my back yard.

P.S.

I know how to get rid of that wart on your foot.

Listen, I'll take any help I can get. I have no pride left.

p.s. Are you trying to tell me that I should be more accepting of foot fungus. . .as I am the victim of a foot wart? Maybe you're right. Listen, I'll take any help I can get. I have no pride.

It is a myth that if you shake hands with someone who has warts you will get them too. I suppose this goes for playing footsies with someone who has a wart on their foot as well. So no worries Micky. It's possible that I have been living with someone for the past year and eight months who always has warts and I haven't contracted any. So no one should fear your fungus.

Let me clarify. A wart is a virus, not a fungus. I don't think michelleyv should discriminate against a fungus, and I only wrote the wart comment because I remembered it was mentioned on the "Where Flowers Bloom" blog spot. Jeff has a huge wart on his toe that may require an amputation. Needless to say, if Dr. Eyre can't get rid of your warts, they are there to stay.

Maybe Jeff and I should just let down our defenses so our wart infested toes can play a little.

As much as I hate to admit it, Ryan is correct. A wart is a virus. Also, it should be noted that it is very difficult to transfer a fungal infection from ones ear to ones nose, but it is easy to tansfer a fungal infection from ones ear to ones eyes. Be careful where you put your fingers.

This comment has nothing to do with fungus or viral warts. It's quite entertaining though-to try to figure out which number belongs to which Loveless. Now Calli...do you know where you were born? OR- Are you embarrassed to admit you were born in a place that makes Tooele look like Shangrila. Who came up with the pronunciation of Tooele anyway?

Not only does your comment have nothing to do with viral warts or fungus, but it has nothing to do with pleated pants or guys who wear socks with their sandals. I will never be embarrassed of my roots, only grateful for true friends who told me that my aqua-marine Rocky Mountains and lace-up boots didn't look as great as I thought they did. We can all be glad that those days are gone as we should all be happy about finding flat front pants.

Tooele is an Indian word.

Indian or Native American? Let's be politically correct here.
