Happy Birthday Fernando

Once upon a time in a land of EFY, there was a building counselor named Calli who was training a whole new group of unsuspecting normal young adults who had no idea what they were getting themselves into or that they would soon have to become, well, transformers. Enter Fernando into my group. Yup, that's how we met, all those years ago. I'm pretty sure he thought I was crazy. But we somehow managed to become great friends, neighbors, family.

I can honestly say that Fernando is one person who knows me inside and out, so he is also one person who can get away with calling me out on pretty much everything from my "weird" accent to my bad hair days. And he does. I like to say that I had something to do with finally getting him to tell his now lovely wife Sharon, how he felt about her. I believe we had that conversation after watching Charley. Hmmm. Fernando is one person who never changes for anyone or anything. I like that we can talk about gospel depth as easily as we can talk about a bad tie choice. I like that we've argued. I like that he would tell me when I was dating someone he "just couldn't see me with". I love that he married Sharon and that he has a beautiful little girl. I like that he sings in the car to keep himself awake on road trips. I like that he and Sharon sang at my wedding dinner. I just have so many reasons to like this guy. Here's a shout out to my favorite L.A. busta'--Happy Birthday Nando--

Fernando- I know your cousin Daniel (I think that is his name, he served his mission in cebu) and I think you and I had a class together at the Y. Anyway, I met your wife at Autumn fest last year....I would love to get in touch with Elder Seminario. My name is Alicia Farrar, if you could email me his info. or just tell him to email me that would be great. My email is alicia_diane@hotmail.com

Thanks. Happy Birthday.
