The Witches Were Out...just like every year at this time in Gardner Village. It's kind of become a family tradition. We go each year and we enjoy seeing all witches and where they've moved since last year, and any new ones. Well most of us do. This year Luke asked at least 50 times that day "But Will They Get Me?" Somehow I think he doubted our "they are just statues" explanation.
Luckily this year, Grandma was with us and helped calm his fears. At the end of our witch walk we always enjoy a pastry from the Bakery.

Little Handy Men
On crisp, beautiful fall Saturday afternoons, we:
Morph into Karate Kid (Daniel-Son) and fix bikes...or jogging strollers
...and of course, manicure the lawn.
You have to start them young, you know.

Look Familiar?

21
There are some days you just can't imagine ever happening, no matter how old you get. Eli turning 21 was one of those days.
I love this guy. And I believe he can do amazing things.
I know he has a lot in store for him and I can't wait to see him have the opportunities that he deserves.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY ELI!
May your every wish come true.

XANGO=REAL SL SOCCER
XANGO usually holds it's summer party at Seven Peaks, which is great and all, except for the fact that you have to parade around in a bathing suit in front of all of your husband's co-workers...which, is not so great. So we were thrilled when they decided to hold their summer party at a REAL SALT LAKE game, which makes good obvious sense...they are the sponsors.
It was a family first for us all and Ryan's sister and her family got to join us!
Max was of course taking it all in and more than happy to sport his Xango pride.
Luke wanted nothing to do with the face painting and was momentarily thrilled by all the commotion, the drums, the thousands of people and the game.
Once the popcorn, snow cones, soda, and candy started to roll...he settled right in.
Good times...one last hoorah before I get ripped open and put back together again.

Cascade Springs
To escape the heat of the campground we decided to take a little field trip to Cascade Springs.

I had never been there, but it was the perfect little hike for the kids. It was absolutely beautiful.
The Springs are naturally occurring so you can't get in them. I suppose they figure grimy little campers like ourselves might contaminate them. So, the kids opted for the next best thing to cool themselves off. Bless the soul that thought to put in a water spicket.

Cascade Springs didn't disappoint. Except for the parking ticket that was waiting for Jolea when we returned to the cars.

Loveless-Beatty Camp Trip #2
What happens when the Loveless' and the Beatty's decide to go camping?
1. We spend a lot of time looking for a camping spot
2. Divine intervention helps us to find each other when cell phones don't work
3. We set up camp in the dark
4. The entire campsite was a ghost site when we got there...
5. By the next morning we had lots of new friends and had to move our entire camp because we were in a reserved site, which happened to be the best and had the most shade.
Here we are by our new campsite trying to find any shade we can.
BUT...there is plenty of time for whittling...
